Toyota Tundra

The Toyota Tundra stands as a seriously capable truck. Tow rates match some of the best in its class and the TRD-Pro trim level offers impressive off-road-oriented capabilities. If you-re in the market for a full-size pickup, the 2015 Tundra offers many pros that make it worth your while.

New and Improved for 2015: The Tundra was given a major redesign just last year, but Toyota awarded yet another round of changes to the 2015 lineup. The Tundra no longer houses a V6 engine, and instead, offers a choice between two V8s. The 4.6-liter V8 is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, producing 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. The 5.7-liter V8 is also paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, but it-s much stronger with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque.

?Tow rates are excellent for both engines with a max tow capacity of 6,800 pounds with the 4.6-liter and 10,500 pounds with the 5.7-liter. Note that these rates depend on body style and for properly equipped trucks.

Power, towing ? what else could the Tundra offer? You guessed it – speed! In zero to 60 mph testing, the Tundra TRD Pro sprinted it in just 6.7 seconds – a quicker-than-average time for the segment.

The Tundra also gained a new TRD-Pro trim level, which comes with off-road capable gear, like skid plates, off-road tires, Bilstein shocks and raised suspension.

More to Enjoy: While the Tundra offers power, towing and speed, it also boasts much more. The 2015 lineup features a huge list of trim levels that come with content that will please most.

The SR begins the lineup and comes with better-than-average entry-level equipment and features. It has keyless entry, heated mirrors, full power accessories, cruise control and two 12-volt power outlets. It also has a matte black lower front bumper, rear bumper and grille surround, plus tow hooks and windshield wiper de-icer. Electronics include a generous list with everything from Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity to 6.1-inch Entune touchscreen interface and four-speaker audio system with CD player, USB port, iPod interface and auxiliary audio jack.

Skipping up to the Limited trim means many more upscale niceties to make your time on the road more enjoyable. It has heated mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front bucket seats and 20-inch alloy wheels. It also features a premium grille and bed rail system. More tech features are also included on the Limited with a navigation system and smartphone app suite that integrates into the Entune touchscreen.

Another trim worth mentioning is the Platinum. With it comes real luxury content, such as power-folding and auto-dimming outside mirrors, premium leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats and driver-seat memory functions. It also features more chrome detailing and special 20-inch wheels. Audio gets a big jump up with a 12-speaker JBL sound system.
