Performance

The 2017 Toyota Tundra comes powered by two distinct V8 engines, both of which prove quite powerful and capable of handling the toughest jobs. First is the i-FORCE 4.6L V8 that’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and delivers 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque with up to 19 mpg highway. Standard as well is rear-wheel drive with an automatic limited-slip differential, and on offer is a part-time four-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled transfer case and active traction control.

Also available is an i-FORCE 5.7L V8, which is also paired with a six-speed automatic transmission to generate 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. A standard tow package with this engine adds engine and transmission coolers to boost towing capabilities. Either engine option is a great choice for Boulder City drivers who prefer performance-oriented trucks.

Utility

Perhaps the most appealing aspect of the 2017 Toyota Tundra is that it can be completely customized to meet your exact specifications, with different bed and cab options available. Depending on the trim you select, you have access to a regular cab, a double cab, and a crewmax cab, with either 4×2 or 4×4 bed options. Take advantage of various packages, too, like the TRD Off-Road package with off-road tires and specially tuned suspension, skid plates, and shock absorbers. Pahrump drivers will be off-road ready thanks to the available packages.

Technology

The 2017 Toyota Tundra was built with the modern driver in mind, which is why the cabin is loaded with the latest technology.

  • Backup Camera: Standard on every Toyota Tundra is a rearview camera, which makes every maneuver easier, especially if there’s a trailer attached to your pickup. This screen also doubles as a display for your audio.
  • Entune Premium Audio: Available on the Tundra is the Entune Premium Audio system with integrated navigation and an app suite, which provides access to your favorite smartphone apps and easy turn-by-turn directions via a 7-inch, high-resolution touchscreen display.
  • Multi-Information Display: Track your average speed, distance to an empty gas tank, fuel economy, and more via the customizable 3.5-inch Multi-Information Display.
  • Advanced Safety: The 2017 Toyota Tundra is the first full-size pickup to offer blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, and it also boasts the Star Safety System, which includes vehicle stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, and more.

Reviews

The reviews are in, and critics are touting everything from the 2017 Toyota Tundra’s durability and customizable nature to its high-tech, luxurious cabin.

  • The Car Connection: “The 2017 Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck that offers a robust powertrain and a refined feel to lure some of the most loyal customers away from well-established rivals. The Tundra’s strong record for durability has helped it carve out a small slice of the truck market, thanks in part to its broad lineup of SR, SR5, TRD Pro, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition trim levels. Once buyers have selected a trim level, there are still plenty of options: bed length, cab size, engines, and rear- or four-wheel drive.”
  • Car and Driver: “[T]he interior remains logically laid out and well put together, with buttons and knobs large enough to operate with gloves; our Limited test model also had a touch-screen display. Upscale models, especially the 1794 Edition, feel like Lexuses inside, too.”
