How To Reset Your Tire Pressure Light

If you have a flashing tire pressure light, don’t delay in fixing it! Las Vegas drivers who don’t know how to reset their tire pressure light risk a more serious issue with their car later on, considering how much the tires factor into how the rest of the car runs. You might run into issues with your suspension if your TPMS light is on, so let Findlay Toyota walk you through this guide on how to reset your tire pressure light!

Resetting Your Tire Pressure Light

Once you’ve got your tires properly inflated if you’ve got your TPMS light on, your pressure light should go off soon. If it stays on, here’s what you do:

  • Drive above 50 mph to reset the sensor for 10 minutes. This will cause your sensor to reset the next time you turn your car on in Boulder City.
  • With the vehicle off, turn the key to “on” but don’t start the ignition. Hold the TPMS reset button until the tire pressure light blinks three times, then take it off. Start the car and wait 20 minutes. You can find the tire pressure monitor reset button beneath the steering wheel. Check your owner’s manual to be sure.
  • Inflate your tires to 3 PSI over recommended, then deflate them fully. Be sure to do this to the spare tire as well as it might have a sensor. Then inflate them back to normal.
  • With the vehicle off, take off the positive battery cable with a wrench. Turn the car on and honk the horn for three seconds. This will discharge any remaining power. Reconnect the battery and check the light.
