Toyota Highlander Standard Equipment Reviews

Drivers who choose the 2019 Toyota Highlander will enjoy tons of compelling and easy-to-use standard features. Here’s what some of the experts noted in their reviews:

  • For the trusted reviewers at the U.S. News, the most exciting elements were the "straightforward infotainment system," the "appealing set of entertainment features and a generous amount of safety equipment."
  • Kelley Blue Book was especially impressed with the base trim, which includes features like "keyless entry, a total of five USB ports, the Entune infotainment system with 6.1-inch touch screen, and the Toyota Safety Sense suite of safety features."

Toyota Highlander XLE Reviews

Many reviewers take the time to highlight the trims which they feel provide the most value for drivers. With a standard V6 engine and a wide variety of upscale amenities, the mid-range Toyota Highlander XLE earned tons of praise:

  • Edmunds.com was abundantly clear when they wrote that "The XLE is our pick." They focused on its "desirable extras, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and keyless entry and ignition."
  • For Kelley Blue Book, the XLE trim level stood out with cabin and tech upgrades like the "leather interior, navigation, moonroof, power-adjustable passenger seat, the Easy Speak intercom system, and auto-dimming rearview mirror."

Toyota Highlander Hybrid Reviews

With up to 30 mpg city and 28 mpg highway*, it isn’t hard to see why the 2019 Toyota Highlander reviews have been so positive! Its 305-hp V6 engine is just icing on the cake! Here’s what the experts noticed:

  • The reviewers at Edmunds.com highlighted the Highlander Hybrid for its "quiet and compliant ride." Of course, they also noticed that it offers "impressive fuel-economy for a three-row crossover."
  • For the editors at the U.S. News, there’s no midsize SUV that can outperform the Highlander Hybrid. They’ve ranked it as the #1 option in the segment because it delivers "class-leading fuel economy," a "strong powertrain," an "upmarket cabin," and "lots of standard safety features."

Highlander AWD: Toyota Highlander In Snow Reviews

Although %%target_city_2%% and %%target_city_4%% drivers may not have to deal with snow very often, everyone wants to be assured that their SUV will perform well under less-than-ideal conditions. The experts were clear--you can always count on the Highlander to get you from A to B.

  • Edmunds.com was quick to note that the 8-inch ground clearance "exceeds that of most in the segment." Since "all-wheel drive versions are available and include both hill descent control and an electronically lockable differential,” it’s a good choice for the driver who needs a dependable SUV.
  • U.S. News calls the Highlander "sure-footed and stable". Kelley Blue Book celebrated its "high seating position," while noting it offers a "good steering feel, a good turning radius, and a comfortable yet controlled ride."

2019 Toyota 4Runner Towing Capacity

Dad loading trunk of silver Toyota 4Runner

How much can a Toyota 4Runner tow? When properly equipped, the 4Runner SUV has no trouble towing up to 5,000 pounds*. What’s more, since every 4Runner configuration includes the standard features you’ll need to pull heavy loads, you won’t even have to upgrade to enjoy these impressive capacities in %%di_city%%. Heading out past %%target_city_3%% with a trailer or a small boat has never been easier.

4Runner Towing Features

No matter which 4Runner trim level you select, you’ll receive the following towing features for safer, easier rides on the roads near %%target_city_1%% and %%target_city_4%%:

  • 4.0L V6 Engine: The 4Runner is powered by a rugged 4.0L V6 engine that generates 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
  • Wiring Harness with 4- and 7-Pin Connectors: Hooking up your trailer lights is simple and easy with this SUV’s standard harness and connectors.
  • Integrated Towing Hitch Receiver: The Toyota 4Runner is built to take you anywhere you want to go! For that reason, all trims come standard with the heavy-duty hitch receiver you’ll need.

The Toyota 4Runner is also available with on-demand four-wheel drive. This feature makes the 4Runner exceptionally stable when you’re towing heavy loads near %%target_city_4%%.

What Is an SAE J2807 Towing Rating?

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has sought to ensure a level playing field for drivers who need to compare the tow ratings of different models. They’ve designed a series of tests, assessing a vehicle’s structure, ballast, chassis, and tires, in order to ensure all-around capability.

These engineers know that there’s a lot more to towing than engine power alone. As a result, their tests look at overall vehicle dynamics and hitch structure at the same as they evaluate a given model’s power and torque. Choosing an SUV or a truck that’s been rated to SAE J2807 standards is the best way to ensure that you’re getting your money’s worth.

4Runner Towing vs. the Competition

Even with its standard front-wheel drive, the 2019 Toyota 4Runner delivers towing power that competitors can’t match. Here’s how a few top challengers measure up against this Toyota:

  • 2019 Honda Pilot LX FWD: 3,500 pounds
  • 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x2: 3,500 pounds
  • 2018 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sport: 3,500 pounds

Although a 3,500-pound capacity will be sufficient for some tasks, drivers who want to be prepared for anything will feel much more confident behind the wheel of the 4Runner. Drivers who are still searching for that perfect SUV should note that the 2019 Toyota Highlander also offers a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. Compare the Highlander to the 4Runner in-depth to learn more.

*Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo.

What Toyota Models Are Built in the US?

Toyota Camry Built In USA

These days, drivers would be excused for having questions about manufacturing on the mind. You may have caught yourself wondering, for example: where are all these Toyotas built? Well, Findlay Toyota wants to give you some important news. In a recent analysis, the Toyota Camry was judged the ‘most American’ vehicle. Read on for a brief summary, and then be sure to stop on by our Findlay Toyota dealership yourself in order to take any one of our new Toyota Camry models out for a test drive to see what it offers in performance, technology, and safety. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The Toyota Camry: an American Car

The automotive consumer guide Cars.com recently released a new study documenting the ‘most American’ cars on the market. Using a metric labelled the ‘American Made Index,' Cars.com determined which cars are ‘most American’ by gathering data on a few points: where a car is manufactured, where it is built, and what percentage of its sales were based in the U.S.

Among the surprises unearthed by Cars.com was the shocking conclusion that Ford and Chrysler don’t even belong on the list. Neither manufacturer is producing a car that begins to measure up on the American Made Index.

Most surprising, perhaps, was Cars.com’s conclusion that the single ‘most American’ vehicle is that produced by Japanese automaker Toyota: the Camry. Bill Fay, general manager of Toyota Motor Sales was not surprised, remarking that the finding “reinforces the Americanization story of Toyota...We operate ten plants in the U.S., build more than 2 million vehicles here, and 71% of our sales [here in America] are vehicles built in North America.”

Test Drive a New Toyota Today

But there’s one more surprise in store: if you want to take the Camry out for a test drive, you can do so easily by visiting out Findlay Toyota dealership yourself. We can be reached via this easy-to-complete online form, and we promise to get back to you in no time whatsoever. At the same time, though, you shouldn’t fail to check out our financing options, too. What are the New 2017 Toyota 86 Changes?

2017 Toyota 86

For many years, international drivers have had access to the Toyota 86, but only now is the American market getting a look at the Toyota 86 name and its performance specs. Based on the Scion FR-S, which is being discontinued along with the rest of the Scion lineup, the all-new 2017 Toyota 86 will be quite similar to the model it replaces, including the same platform. There are some exciting and important changes to note, though, so find out more and get ready to check out this performance coupe at Findlay Toyota.

Performance Specs

Like the model it replaces, the 2017 Toyota 86 will get its power from a 2.0L horizontal “boxer” inline-four engine mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission to deliver power to the rear wheels. From what we know, fine tuning should give the 2017 Toyota 86 a performance boost. While the Scion FR-S got a respectable 200 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, with the six-speed manual it appears the Toyota 86 will make 205 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque. The Toyota 86 will also deliver more responsive handling thanks to more rigid suspension tuning.

New Design Elements

In most ways, the 2017 Toyota 86 will resemble the Scion FR-S, from its sleek two-door profile to its aggressive, swooping front hood. You’re likely to notice a few styling upgrades, though, including a new bumper, a bigger center intake, and the addition of the Toyota badge to the front grille and in back.

Get Ready for the 2017 Toyota 86 Changes Coming to Findlay Toyota

There are a lot of reasons to be excited about the arrival of the 2017 Toyota 86 for drivers who want an accessibly priced way to enjoy thrilling sports coupe performance. Find out more about this all-new model and its changes by visiting Findlay Toyota at 7733 Eastgate Rd. in Henderson, NV or contacting us directly.
